More than half way gone

Flipping through the pages
Some nonchalantly
Some full of purpose

Laughs, love, tears, cares

197 pages closed already, only 168 left

What lies ahead?

Does a fulfilling 197 pages guarantee a fulfilling 168?

Two questions.
• I’ve had it all together since the 1st of January with no mistakes or disappointments, does that guarantee that my December 31st will be full of laughs, joy and contentment?

• From January till now, it’s been one challenge or the other.

Tears, fears and misery

I’ve fallen literally all through the year

I’ve had more tears than laughs.

I’ve not had a beautiful first half, is my year wasted?

A fulfilling first half doesn’t guarantee a beautiful second half neither does a miserable first half mean a bad end.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord.

Thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

For those who haven’t had a nice start, you have a role to play but are you willing to trust the one who knows this story better than you?

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your path.

Entrust the next chapters to this author and watch him direct and help you.

My Dual Citizenship

Hi bunnies
Some Sundays back, in church, we had an interactive session from Matthew 22 verse 15 where the Pharisees were trying to cage Jesus and challenged him with the question about payment of taxes, and we looked at Jesus’ epic response “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”
We brought forth the different interpretations that have been given to what Jesus said, including those that said, “What Jesus meant was As a christian, you can serve God and still pay allegiance to ‘gods’ performing sacrifices and all”

We immediately refuted and corrected that interpretation. That is paying allegiance to Satan! So for the benefit of those that believe it’s totally ok to seek God on Sunday and “consult” other means behind the curtains. That is wrong! Matthew 6:24/Luke 16:13

We were now made to understand that Jesus Christ was only telling them to give the necessary dues to constituted authorities and at the same time, give honor to God.

Pay your tithe and pay your tax!

That was my muse for this post.

It only got me thinking, Jesus was talking about dual citizenship!

I’ve been saved so I’m a citizen of Heaven and a citizen Nigeria.

A person with dual citizenship is entitled to the rights of both nations and at the same time is obliged to obey the rules of both countries.
So as a Nigerian, I get to enjoy the rights of every Nigerian

And as a citizen of the kingdom, I get to enjoy and draw from everything made available in the kingdom.

I obey kingdom rules, At the same time, I obey the rules and regulations of my country Nigerian.

I live the life of God which assures me eternal life and I apply the principles of Jesus which guarantees success here on earth.

Now the only time a problem will arise is when obeying Nigeria means disobeying the rules of the kingdom.

You see when you have 2 things, you enjoy both but when it gets to a point where one has to go, you go for the one that is more important.

Priorities.

So as a Nigerian, Payment of taxes, obeying simple rules and regulations set by constituted authorities, giving honor to secular leaders (believers or not) and other things expected of me, I do.

Not doing them, will not speak well of me as a Christian. The only time I’m allowed to be defiant is when they’re going to make me compromise.

I only become a “rebel” when my convictions are being thwarted because I have the understand that

I am living as a citizen of heaven here on earth

I am a first a citizen of heaven before a citizen of Nigeria but that does not permit me to be disobedient to authorities in my country.

At the end of the lesson I was able to make my own little resolution to obey God and my leaders.

To be loyal as a citizen of heaven and a citizen of Nigeria and exploit both privileges.

18 But Jesus perceived  their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me,  ye  hypocrites?

19 Shew me the tribute money. And they  brought unto him a penny.

20 And he saith unto them,  Whose  is this image and superscription?

21 They  say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them,  Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are  Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

22  When they had heard these words, they marvelled,  and left him, and went their way.

5 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY SPIRITUAL FATHER – Apostle Joshua Selman.

Apostle Joshua Selman
Apostle Joshua Selman

Apostle Joshua Selman Nimmak is my spiritual father.
There are so many things I love about him but I’ll share just five.

It’s his birthday tomorrow and I thought it best to do this now.

Apostle Joshua Selman is a young man of God whose teachings are deep truth of the word of God.

He is a carrier of God’s presence.

His impact cannot be exaggerated or overemphasized.
He finished from ABU and he has been in ministry for not less than 9years, though Eternity Nertwork International (ENI) just clocked 6years in March 2017.
I’m not writing his biography, I’m writing on the things I love about him.

I’ve been attending koinonia for a few years now so I’m not writing from a fan’s point of view, neither am i writing about someone i read about or someone I’ve heard about. I’m writing as a daughter and a disciple.
Attending koinonia, all I can say is that you have to be there to know what’s up. Trying to fully explain the experience is not really possible as my vocabulary is not updated enough to use the magnitude of words I want to.
So here you go, 5 things I love about my father.

  1. Humility : For a man that carries God’s presence and is an envoy of the most high, Apostle is humility personified. He doesn’t just preach the law of honor, he practices it. His spiritual escapades has never made him a showoff. His respect to mothers, fathers and ministers of God, baffles me. 1Peter 5:5. I’m so sure this is one of the reasons God loves him James 4:6, Psalm 138:6. Pride is far from him Prov 16:5.
His command of English language : He has made it clear severally that oratory is different from utterance (he has both). His command of English is something I admire so much. Listening to him and how fluent he is, you’d think learning English language will make you speak that well but that’s a lie. The spirit backs up his words so even if you weren’t really interested in listening, at some point, your mind will be captured, which leads me to number 3.
  2. Apostle Joshua Selman

  3. His ability to capture the minds of people : People attend Koinonia for different reasons and with different intentions but end up surrendering to God and this reminds me of one of Apostle’s saying “You may come the way you are but you can’t remain the way you are”. He communicates the message of God to people so well that even people that don’t understand English well, understand him. This is one gift God has given to him, the teaching anointing. If he were my lecturer, I would never fail
  4. His smile : It can light up a room, hehe. 😊 I was speaking with one of his closest workers and he said “Apart from the loving father side of him, he’s an administrator and loves organization”. So he doesn’t smile often but when he does, it’ll just melt your heart. It has melted mine many times. He is a beautiful creature (before nko? With all that glory of God shining and radiating on him, what do you expect? Spending time with God will just make you over fine. The secret place beautifies you). And his smile is heavenly. So yea, his smile is yet another reason I love Apostle Joshua Selman.
  5. His sincere desire to see people truly blessed: He has access to several mysteries and secrets of God and he’s not selfish with them. He gives timely messages. Each and every koinonia message carries power. In every message, he dispenses what he has received. He imparts in his workers, he blesses people financially. He gives everything.

Apostle Joshua Selman

There are so many other things I love about him like ; his love for his workers, his sacrificial lifestyle, his ability to make you feel special, his desire to see God glorified in everything he does, his sense of humor and the list goes on unending.

Three of his favorite quotes are ;

  1. “We will all be great and the beautiful part is, we will all know ourselves”.
  2. “You may come the way you are but you can’t remain the way you are”.
  3. “The anointing does not make the difference, the anointing IS the difference”.
