Easter Musings + 5 Easter Blog post Ideas

Easter is a time to remember the sacrifice of Christ for us; the sacrifice that made His Name the greatest Name in heaven and on earth. Traditions and practices over the years are gradually making us loose sight of the true essence of easter.

This post is an attempt to refocus and redirect our minds back to the reason for the season, Jesus Christ.

The greatest sacrifice ever made was Christ becoming man and coming to suffer and die for our salvation and redemption.

John 15:13

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Being ignorant of His sacrifice automatically makes you ignorant of what it has made available for you. There is absolutely nothing you desire that the blood of Jesus can not obtain.

Today is a commemoration of the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ and as you reminisce on the great sacrifice He made, tap fully into everything that has been made available for you as a reason of the death of Christ on the cross.

The death of Jesus Christ is the greatest demonstration of love and it has called us out of every tribe and nation and His blood has purchased us. The greatest benefit of this death is Salvation but even beyond salvation, Christ wants us to be happy and His blood takes care of that. Everything you want is tied to Him.

2 Corinthians 8:9
For you are recognizing [more clearly] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [His astonishing kindness, His generosity, His gracious favor], that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich (abundantly blessed)

As we celebrate this year’s easter, I pray that we encounter this great Love that made life worth living and that we begin to experience and enjoy everything Christ has given us access to. Amen.

A Short Prayer For Ladies/Women.

Hey guys!
Happy Friday! TGIF.

Part of my assignment is to build up girls/ladies/women that’ll love and be passionate about God.
So God laid it in my heart to share a prayer for ladies.

Take a look at Lessons for the Proverbial Girl.
Read the words with the consciousness of what they mean and expect results. Apply areas of your life where necessary and trust God for a performance. Nothing is too small to be prayed about.

Luke 18:1.

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

So here it goes;

Sweet Jesus,
Thank You for Your unstoppable love for me even in my filth.
Thank You for Your Word that is meat to me.
Thank You for my family and my friends.
Thank You for everything You have done.

Lord I ask that You help me get intimate with You daily. Through my busy life, help me to acknowledge and be conscious of You; nothing should separate us.
On days when I have to seek a little deeper before I find You, help me to relentlessly pursue.
I ask for a deeper level of intimacy with the Holy Spirit.

Lord I ask that You help me see myself as beautiful as You see me.

Song of songs 4:7

“You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way

On days when I feel too small, too big, bloated, ugly and not enough, Help me to know that I am worth Your blood.

Help me to genuinely love and admire other women.
Take away hurt, pain, jealousy, anger, and low self esteem from me.
Let me sincerely care for people even when they’re not nice to me.

Matthew 5:44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Build and make me until my frail self becomes a powerful woman that moves the world for you.
Bless my Parents, mentors, siblings, family and everyone that loves me.
Bless my husband and kids (born and unborn).
Bless my finances and my career/business/job, help me become a reflection of Your Excellence and Wisdom.
Let my gift bring me before Kings.

Make me a woman like Deborah, Esther, Mary and Elizabeth.

I present my body as a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable unto You. Find expression through me.

Help me to love You regardless of circumstances.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Thank you for praying!

TRUST – even when God “fails” you?

Currently I am listening to I will sing by Don Moen

As a Christian, you’re told that every storm teaches you something but what happens when the storm doesn’t even make sense? How can something that doesn’t make sense, teach you anything?

I read a book by Lysa Terkeurst titled “What happens when Women Say Yes To God” and in a part of the book, she wrote about a woman called Beverly who had cancer but was still courageous and in her words “refuses to get swept up in the bitterness and anxiety that surely come knocking on the door of her heart”.

Beverly shared an experience on how her husband’s van had gotten spoilt on the first night of their vacation with the kids.
They had had a great day and were headed back for supper and to retire for the night when their van suddenly died.
All efforts to get it back to work were futile and after a two-and-a-half-hour-wait, they had to get a ride back to their motel in shifts because they couldn’t all fit into the car.

The next day, her husband went out to get the car fixed while she and the kids stayed back in the room and prayed.
Would they be able to fix the van?
How much would it cost?
What were they going to do without a vehicle?

But they consoled themselves, saying;

“God must have a plan”.

They fantasized over what God’s plan could be as it was obvious that theirs was ruined.

Maybe God wanted them to share Christ with the mechanic and he would give his heart to the Lord.
Maybe they would see God’s provision by the mechanic fixing the car for free.

Two days later, the van was fixed and none of what they hoped happened.
The mechanic didn’t accept Christ.
They didn’t get a free repair; they paid full.

They were poorer but not wiser.
This was a woman with cancer that loved God with all her heart and her family.

Why, Lord, did You allow this to happen?

This may not seem like a big deal to us but it definitely was to them.

We’ve definitely had problems that had God’s fingerprints all over them and He brought us out eventually and we learnt one or two things from them but how do you explain times when you totally relied on God for something and he “fails” you?
Problems where you really can’t see any new lesson to learn.
The problem just brought depression, shame and pain.
You’re faithful to God but he doesn’t really seem faithful at that point.

What do you do when you don’t see what God is doing in your failure and pain?
Can you trust Him regardless?

When it feels like God has failed you, are you willing to say “I really don’t know what You’re doing, but I trust You”?

Habakkuk 3:17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 3:18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Can you trust God after it seemed like He wasn’t fair to you?

God wants us to trust Him at all times. When the chips are up and when they’re down, when He seems distant and far.

Trust His plan.

Whenever God is silent, He’s watching you.

-Apostle Joshua Selman

God wants to know if the only time you call Him “good” is when things are well with you.

Rest in God’s undying love today and find peace in His mercies for they’re new every moment.
