Your identity in Christ. 14 Names God calls you and scriptures

When you become saved, it is really important to know your identity in Christ and the names God calls you.
Who have you become as a result of your decision to believe and confess Christ as your Lord?

The Bible tells us that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. 2 Corinth 5:17
This means that you don’t remain the same after salvation. The core of your being changes.
Your life is no longer the same. You have a new identity.

What is an identity?
“Sense of who one is”
Or
“The difference or character that marks off an individual from the rest of the same kind, selfhood”.

Your identity in Christ is the sense of who you are as a result of your affiliation with, and abiding in Him.
It is your uniqueness and what separates you from the rest of the world.

One of the key things that define identity is a Name.
A name is a description of an office, an identity, and how a person or thing should function. According to Washingtonpost, “a person’s name is the greatest connection to their own identity and individuality”

In Computing, a name is defined as a “unique identifier”

It is crucial for us believers to get our identity from God’s Word by knowing what names God calls us, to prevent identity crisis or living according to the world’s definition of us.

God’s definition of you is actually the most accurate. And knowing this gives you so much power against everything God has made subject to you.
When believers are ignorant of their identity in Christ, they become slaves to things they should Lord over, like sin, darkness, fear, death, pain, evil, and other antics of the enemy.
Even the enemy himself.

Below are some amazing names God calls you and names you have gotten as a result of being a believer. Read them, meditate, and live in the fullness of their significance.
