Barren!

Currently listening to Moment of worship by Kathryn Kuhlman.

Happy New Year guys!
It’s 2018. Wow.
Does anyone else think the years are flying by?
I mean I was 5 just yesterday.
But I guess that’s the thing about time. It doesn’t really wait for us; it just goes on and on and expects us to do what we should at the right time.
As a little girl, I couldn’t wait to become a grown up, make my own decisions, get into the university, even get married. Now life’s coming so fast I’m like “waiiittt, can we slow down a bit, I know I wanted this but chill”.
The rapidness of my growth last year, made life really dawn on me. I mean, I’ve always been growing mentally even physically ahead of my peers since I was little but last year opened up a lot to me; this is a story for another day.

One of the things I learnt last year was how time works. Time is a unique entity; its dynamics amaze me. Everything seems to be moving slowly but before you know it, time has flown past, and you’re wondering why it didn’t tell you first.

The only time you really have is this “slowly passing” time which is now.

The title of this post should have been “Lazy“, “Laziness” or something related but what actually brought about this post was the word “barren“. When I thought of it, my creative juices started to bubble.
We definitely have experienced barrenness in various areas and aspects of our lives.
Many things are responsible for unfruitfulness and barrenness but one of the major causes is Laziness.

Proverbs 24 (AMP)

30

:I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

31:And, behold, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles were covering its face, and its stone wall was broken down.

32:Then I beheld and considered it well; I looked and received instruction.

33:Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleepβ€”
34:So shall your poverty come as a robber, and your want as an armed man.

Barrenness is the property of not supporting life. And growth is the proof of life so wherever there’s no growth, there’s unfruitfulness (barrenness) then there’s death.
Barrenness and laziness go hand in hand. When you refuse to work with what you have, there’s bound to be unfruitfulness.

Whatever you do not engage will not produce fruits.

Even biological barrenness is mostly due to damage to fallopian tube or uterus which incapacitates them and causes them not to work.
No matter how beautiful a seed is in the hands of a farmer, it won’t produce food for him if it remains there; it has to be put to work.
Jesus told a parable of a rich man who gave different talents to his workers according to their abilities and traveled.
The servant who was given just one talent, didn’t put it to work, instead he buried it.
The master gave them talents according to their abilities. The laziness and slothfulness of this last servant only goes out to prove that he wouldn’t have handled more better.
Stop complaining about how little you have and put it to work.
If you can’t handle that little, what makes you think you will be able to handle more.
Nobody has empty hands; there’s always something.
Pull the trigger at laziness and you won’t need to pull another trigger at barrenness.

Proverbs 10 (NIV)

4

:Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.
5:He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

How to be Part of the 8 Percent People Who Achieve their Goals .

Happy Friyay Guys!

Research shows that 92 Percent of People Don’t Achieve Their Goals – That is according to research by the University of Scranton.

This shouldn’t scare you, there are measures to be taken.

The problem starts from the goals set and how they’re set.

SETTING GOALS.

What do you want?

A goal is aimed at something so if you do not know what you want, you can not have a sensible goal. What phase are you currently in your life, what project are you embarking on and how far do you plan to go? This should help guide you in setting your goals.

Do not set too many goals.

You probably have a whole lot to do and are overwhelmed but you need to calm down and select the most important ones; all things may be good but not all are important and needful now. Doing too many things is what weighs you down and gets you tired and weary. So, set few goals.

Write them down.

Research shows that those who wrote down their goals and dreams on a regular basis achieved those desires at a significantly higher level than those who did not; you become 42% more likely to achieve your goals and dreams, simply by writing them down on a regular basis.

Avoid vagueness, be specific.

Don’t set vague goals. Be very direct about them, if possible, attach specific days and time. Also, group them under different categories and areas of your life.

Don’t be scared to stretch your self and your capacity but set realistic goals.

Dare to go for things beyond you, but in wisdom.

Have a real destination

I mean that’s the point of a goal right? Somewhere you should be at the end of the year.

“Easier set than reached”
It is not enough to set goals, you must reach them.
To achieve your goals, more is required of you.

ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS

  • Be passionate and determined all through the year, do not get relaxed at some point and slack.
  • Be consistent: Little drops of water make an ocean.
  • Have a constant check (weekly, monthly)
  • Have a motivation: Something should be your drive; a friend, a picture of where you’re heading etc.
  • Dont get discouraged : You’re going to have bad days, get back up and continue. Good things take time.
  • Accountability: Get someone that can hold you accountable or be disciplined enough to hold yourself accountable. Challenge yourself and scold yourself when necessary.
  • Set benchmarks.
  • Celebrate little achievements ; goals are a build up of little success. Little achievements are an indication that you’re heading somewhere

Get a book and a pen and using these guidelines, set your 2018 goals and crush them!

Happy New Year in Advance Guys, see you next year. Xoxo

#LeaveItIn2017 – 2018 in view.

Happy Friday guys! Compliments of the season.

We’re few days to a new year and scrolling through my social media pages everyone has something to say about the new year.
Isn’t it funny how everyone has something to say about #LeaveItIn2017?
Some posts are just really hilarious while some are sad. We have trends that we want to end in 2017.
We know what we don’t want to continue in the new year and ironically none of those things are about us.
I wonder how many of us have actually sat down to point out things that shouldn’t follow us into the next year.
What habits do you need to learn to make your life better and which should you unlearn and leave in 2017?
It’s high time we started applying the #LeaveItIn2017 to our lives.
It’s painful how we tag every new year “our year” but at the end of the year, we don’t need a magician to tell us it wasn’t our year.
Our lives vary so we have different things to do for the new year but there are major things we all should do in preparation for the new year.
I’ll share some healthy habits (mostly pictures and quotes) to adopt in the new year; what to do and what not to.

Build your mind.

Everything starts from the mind, really. Let your mind take a new and healthy shape.

We move our status not by changing our circumstance or environment but by getting our minds there first. The circumstance will relocate shortly.

Julia Okutepa

Personal development.

Strive to become a better person daily. Improve in all areas of your life by learning from others. The remaining points can all be grouped under personal development.
Everything you do in 2018 should be aimed at making you better.

Be intentional.

Don’t take decisions based on emotions; you must have had a goal and a plan for the year by now (if you don’t, no worries, I’ll make a post next Friday to guide you). Success is science; if you have the conditions, you get the results. You can predict your success by your decisions. Everything you do in 2018 should be aimed at your goal.

Take baby steps.

Little drops of water make a mighty ocean. Put your ideas on paper and execute them little by little. You know that thing called “procrastination”? Please #LeaveItIn2017.

Leave negativity in 2017- become a proton.

“A proton can never lose its positivity as so can’t you! It just gets covered by stress which saps your energy. Staying positive will help you overcome the toughest of challenges while attracting more positivity and opportunities”
Come what may in the new year, be determined to emit only positive energy.

Save more.

Leave extravagance in 2017. Become more prudent. Be conscious of where your money goes; if you didn’t work for it, someone did.

Talk less and do more.

Please leave talk in 2017. Empty vessels make the loudest noise. We make so much noise and produce little results. Be a silent achiever.
Let your Ferrari make the noise.

Wake up early.

Leave unnecessary sleep in 2017. Everything you do is a function of time. Time is a major factor in the school of success. Adopt the habit of being an early waker; it’s what successful people do.

Invest in yourself.

Invest in books that’ll build your mind. Invest in gadgets you need to improve your business, skill etc.
Invest in clothes, yes clothes.

Exercise and eat healthy.

Take jogs in the mornings, no matter how busy you are.
Your physical health is very important.
Eat fruits and drink water.

Smile more

Leave anger in 2017. A smile can fix so many things. Step into the new year with a great smile and laugh.

Add Value

What problems can you solve? What will you be rewarded and celebrated for?

If we did all of these things, we wouldn’t have so many prayer requests. God can not do everything for you.
Write down things you know should not go into the new year with you and be determined to drop them.
Adopt new healthy habits and practice them until they become a part of you.

Merry Christmas guys, I love you πŸŽ„πŸ’«πŸ’–
